Mission Hariyali: Holy Mary School leads green drive
Mohali, July 14 -- Holy Mary School, Banur, has launched an extensive plantation campaign under Mission Hariyali 2026.
The school has pledged to plant more than 2,000 trees and plants with the collective support of students, parents, teachers and non-teaching staff. Classes 9 and 10 have been assigned the task of bringing a potted medicinal or ornamental plant to school. Students are expected to nurture and maintain the plant until the end of November. Successful completion of the activity will earn them two marks in their Term II Internal Assessment.
The school has also invited parents of students from Nursery to Class 10 to become active partners in the campaign by planting a tree at home or in a suitable location and sharing a photograph as evidence of their participation.
As part of the campaign, the school itself has taken the lead by planting over 100 saplings or trees on the campus with the wholehearted involvement of its teaching and non-teaching staff. Students who generate and submit the Mission Hariyali 2026 participation certificate will also be awarded two marks in their Term II Internal Assessment.Addressing the school community, principal Shiny Devassy emphasised that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility....
