Chandigarh, Jan. 4 -- The municipal corporation (MC) on Saturday conducted a special enforcement drive across several city sectors, including Sectors 32, 46, 9, Manimajra, 48, 34 and 22, to ensure smooth pedestrian movement and preserve the planned aesthetics of the 'City Beautiful'. During the drive, enforcement teams cleared market corridors, removed illegal vendors and encroachments, and took strict action against violators of municipal norms. A total of 164 challans were issued. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Sunil Dutt, superintendent, enforcement wing, MC, who monitored the proceedings and directed field staff to act firmly yet fairly. The MC said that such drives will continue regularly to prevent unauthorised vending and encroachments, ensure public convenience, and uphold the rule of law.
