Tarn Taran, Sept. 25 -- A woman was stabbed to death by her stepson following a quarrel at their house in Tarn Taran, police said on Thursday. Identified as Lovepreet Singh, the accused allegedly attacked Gurpreet Kaur with a knife after an argument before fleeing. He was later arrested, officials said. Complainant Harakamalpreet Kaur, a resident of Gali Walian Wali, opposite Tarn Taran civil hospital, said she, her mother and younger brother Prabhpreet Singh were present when Lovepreet Singh allegedly picked a quarrel with Gurpreet Kaur over some issue. Fearing the situation, Gurpreet Kaur ran into the street, but Lovepreet followed her, carrying a knife, and attacked her repeatedly. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the civil hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Tarn Taran City SHO Parmjit Singh Virdi reached the spot for an investigation. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination at the civil hospital. A murder case has been registered against Lovepreet Singh, who will be produced before a court, officials said....
