Sonepat, June 24 -- A 70-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his son in Thana Kalan village in Sonepat district, police said on Tuesday. The victim was identified as local resident Sardar Singh. His 46-year-old son, Brahm Dass, initially fled the scene but was arrested within a few hours. Local residents claimed Brahm Dass had a history of severe drug addiction and violent outbursts, having returned home just a month prior following treatment at a rehabilitation facility. The body was sent for the post-mortem examination, while the police recorded the statements of family members and villagers.
