Man arrested for killing labourer
Panchkula, June 15 -- A man, who allegedly murdered a daily wage labourer in Nada village on June 12, has been arrested, Panchkula police said on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Vicky, a resident of Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh. He had been residing on rent in Nada village.
According to police officials, the crime took place on the night of June 12 when Vicky attacked Ravi, 33, leaving him with a fatal head injury after an altercation. Based on the complaint of the victim's wife, a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at the Chandimandir police station.
Cops were able to trace him next day. The weapon used in the crime, a spade allegedly used to strike the victim on his head, was recovered from nearby bushes. Investigators said the altercation stemmed from a minor dispute and escalated into the fatal violence. The accused was produced before a local court on Sunday that sent him to judicial custody.
