Malerkotla, Sept. 19 -- In an attempt to intensify the anti-drug campaign against drug trafficking and drug peddling, Malerkotla Police conducted a demolition drive against illegal encroachments of drug peddlers in the Sunami Gate area of Malerkotla, in coordination with the municipal council. The drive was carried out in the presence of a police force, duty magistrate Lovish Jain, junior engineer (JE) municipal council, and other officials. The action was initiated on the basis of a request received from the municipal council, seeking police assistance for removal of illegal encroachments in the area. During the drive, action was taken at the house of Faisal Khan alias Taaru, against whom four Narcotic Drugsand Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) FIRs had previously been registered, as well as at the premises of his fatherIkthikhar Khan, against whom one FIR had been registered.
