Luthras get bail in Goa club fire; to remain in jail
PANAJI, April 2 -- A sessions court in Goa on Wednesday granted bail to Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra in a case related to a fire at their nightclub last December that killed 25 people. However, they will remain in jail in a second case, where they are accused of submitting a forged no-objection certificate from the Health Office to get an excise licence for the club, people aware of the matter said.
The brothers, who were arrested on December 16 after being flown back from Thailand, were granted bail in the first case upon executing a bond worth Rs.50,000 and a surety of a like amount, among others. "It is a conditional bail. Once judgment copy is available, we will know on what grounds bail was granted," said advocate Parag Rao who represented the Luthras.htc...
