Lost 3 kgs, still recovering: Jaan Kumar Sanu on Covid-19 diagnosis
India, July 17 -- Singer Jaan Kumar Sanu, 34, is currently recovering after being hospitalised for Covid-19, which had forced him to postpone his July 10 concert in Mumbai. He had shared the news on Instagram (see inset) through a video from the hospital, writing, "China se aaya mera dost. Covid ko salaam karo."
Discharged on Sunday, Jaan, son of veteran singer Kumar Sanu, says he has lost three kilos and is still recovering: "My immunity is very low, and my lungs are under stress. I have been advised not to step out at all, and I have to take a break from singing for at least a week."
Sharing an update on his Mumbai concert, Jaan adds, "My concert is on hold for now, but I will make sure it happens by the end of this month."
Speaking about his diagnosis, the singer shares that he first felt unwell during concert preparations. "I started feeling like I was coming down with the flu, so I took my normal medicine and went to sleep," he recalls.
His condition worsened overnight. "I started experiencing chills, shivering, and a fever between 102 and 103 degrees. It got so bad that I was rushed to the hospital, where I eventually fainted."
The news came as a shock. "My doctors came to me and said, 'You are Covid-19 positive.' It was very shocking for me," says the singer, who had not contracted the virus during the pandemic.
As for his other work commitments Jaan is also gearing up for the release of his new single, Tu Sandali....
