Chandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector-47, Chandigarh, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Students and staff from both shifts came together to make the celebration a grand success. The programme was graced by the chief guest, Virender Singh, principal, KV Sector-47. The cultural programme included two dances, a group song, speeches by Raphael (XI) and Paricha Sharma.A patriotic song by Vaishnavi Singh (X) and a patriotic poem presented by Pushkar (X) The speech by little Twisha Sharma (Class I) was a special attraction and was warmly appreciated by everyone. Sunish, PGT CS, delivered an inspiring speech. Virender Singh, principal, KV Sector-47 addressed the gathering and emphasised the values of patriotism, unity and responsible citizenship. The programme was conducted by Ranjana Lamba, while vice principal, KV Sec-47 shift II, Satish Chandra Jangir proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, parents, teachers and students for their enthusiastic participation.
