Kejriwal, Mann meet AAP leader Singla in jail
Karnal, June 10 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and ex-Delhi chief minister Atishi met AAP Goa in-charge Deepak Singla on Tuesday. Singla is lodged in the Ambala Central Jail in an alleged multi-crore money laundering case. While there was no statement from the party or the leaders, sources said that the trio spent nearly 20 minutes inside the jail.
Mann's convoy reached the PWD Rest House in Ambala city, followed by Kejriwal accompanied by MLA Atishi also reached and had a meeting.
Later, the three leaders moved towards the jail amid heavy police deployment from Haryana and Punjab.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had on May 18 arrested Singla in an alleged multi-crore money laundering case arising out of a Rs 150 crore 'scam' in the Oriental Bank of Commerce.
The arrest followed coordinated searches by the federal agency at multiple premises linked to Singla and several hawala operators across Delhi and Goa. It was the second time in two years that Singla faced action by the federal agency. The ED had raided him in 2024, officials said. HTC...
