India, Aug. 1 -- A ctor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs.1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund as the state battles floods that have claimed 80 lives this year and affected more than 2.12 lakh people. The Assam Chief Minister's Office announced the actor's contribution on Thursday, calling it "generous" and "timely". Thanking him, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam." We reached out to Kartik for a comment but received no response till the time of going to press. According to the latest Assam State Disaster Management Authority bulletin, two more people, including a child, drowned in Sivasagar, taking this year's flood toll to 80.
