India, March 26 -- Amid the ongoing row of actor Ranveer Singh's mimicry of a sacred daiva tradition linked to the 2025 film Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1, the actor's counsel informed the Karnataka High Court that he will offer an unconditional apology and visit the temple of deity Chamundi in Mysore to seek forgiveness. The submission was made by senior advocate Sajan Poovayya, during a hearing on his plea to quash an FIR over hurting religious sentiments with the mimicry act. The case stems from an incident at the International Film Festival of India in Goa last year, where Ranveer, 40, mimicked a daiva performance associated with the Bhoota Kola tradition, depicted in the film starring Rishab Shetty. This development comes after the complainant argued that Ranveer's earlier apology on Instagram was not sincere, urging the actor to offer an in-person apology at the temple.
