Karnal, July 2 -- Police on Wednesday claimed to have resolved a Rs.2-crore extortion case with the arrest of the complainant from Pundri, who allegedly hatched a conspiracy to get police security. Special detective unit in-charge inspector Sunil Kumar said Ravi Verma, owner of Lovely Jewellers in Pundri, complained on June 16, alleging that he had received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number in which the caller threatened to kill him and demanded Rs.2 crore extortion. Following the complaint, police arrested the accused, who revealed that he was paid by Ravi to make him a threat call. Later, the police arrested Ravi for allegedly misleading the police.htc...
