Interventional radiology: A safer path to faster recovery

Interventional radiology (IR) is one of the biggest advances in modern medicine. Instead of performing open surgery, specially trained doctors use ultrasound, CT scans and X-ray guidance to treat diseases from inside the body through a tiny needle puncture or a very small opening.
In many cases, there are no stitches, very little blood loss and significantly less pain compared with conventional surgery.
