New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- The government had approved suspension of mobile internet services in at least 8 places across different parts of the national Capital, where they had set up temporary jails, according to records seen by HT. The MHA's approval order sent to the Delhi police dated October 9, 2026 approved by union home secretary, seen by HT, showed that cellular services were suspended in a 500m radius of designated places from noon till 10pm. The places were Chhatrasaal Stadium in Model Town, Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Bawana, East Delhi's Yamuna Sports Complex, Jasola Sports Complex in Sarita Vihar, a community centre in Daulatpur, two different community centres in Chhawla, the Jangli Ram Stadium, in Rohini district's Kanjhawala, and the Surajmal Stadium in Nangloi. Thousands of protesters, including activists of the Cockroach Janta Party, were detained at the above mentioned 8 places.
