India eyes 5,000 GCCs by 2030: Sitharaman
New Delhi, July 10 -- India aims to build an ecosystem capable ofsupporting around 5,000 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) by 2030, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday pointing to a huge untapped opportunity as about two-thirds of the Fortune Global 2000 companies have yet to establish a Global Capability Centre in India.
According to her the next phase of this growth is expected from newergeographies, including East and West Asia, Eastern Europe, the Nordic countries and Australasia.
"These markets are looking for trusted partners capable of supporting advancedinnovation. In my interactions with investors and business leaders from across the world, and recently in France, I increasingly find that many of them are either operating Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India or actively exploring opportunities to establish one," she said at the GCC Business Summit, 2026, organised by CII....
