India, July 12 -- First popularised in the 1960s and '70s, from the legendary Audrey Hepburn's headscarves to the Y2K styles popularised by Sex And The City character Carrie Bradshaw, and reality TV stars Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, the accessory has long been a fashion favourite. Its latest revival, however, is rooted in practicality. Personal stylist and image coach Ishita Saluja says, "With soaring temperatures and rising humidity, the headscarf offers an easy solution to summer styling woes. It keeps hair off the face, tames flyaways, shields the scalp from the sun and elevates even the simplest outfit. Unlike bulky hats or caps, a bandana folds neatly into a handbag and can be styled in multiple ways." Makeover and hair expert Harveen Kathuria adds that the accessory is particularly suited to India's humid weather as they reduce friction caused by wind and offers a layer of protection against dust and pollutants....
