Lucknow/Ayodhya, June 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of eight people arrested in connection with the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple. At about 7am on Sunday, eight police teams, each led by an executive magistrate, simultaneously searched the residences of the eight accused across Ayodhya in an operation designed to prevent families from alerting one another, officials familiar with the matter said. Revenue staff, including lekhpals, accompanied several teams to verify land ownership records and examine properties suspected to have been acquired during the period under investigation.
