History-sheeter stabbed to death in Kapurthala
Jalandhar, June 29 -- A group of assailants stabbed a history-sheeter to death in Kapurthala on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The victim, Jatinder Sehgal, alias Jinder, was a resident of Kapurthala's Lahori Gate area.
Police said the unidentified accused intercepted him near his house around 4 pm and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, inflicting grievous injuries. He was rushed to the local civil hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams rushed to the spot immediately for detailed investigation into the matter. "Preliminary probe revealed that the murder was a fallout of personal rivalry. We have managed to identify three suspects involved in the crime. Further investigation is on and the accused will be arrested soon," police said.
DSP Sheetal Singh said Jatinder had a criminal background, with 10 cases registered against him. He said raids were on for the arrest of the accused. A murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered....
