Chandigarh, Aug. 14 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Friday and the weekend amid possibility of heavy rain in isolated parts of the city. While light rain and drizzle were reported in some parts of the city, especially those around Sector 32, on Thursday, no measurable rainfall was recorded at the IMD observatories. Most of the sectors, including Sector 42, 40, and 38 remained dry throughout the day. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.6degC, a drop of 0.2degC over the past 24 hours, while the minimum stood at 26.4degC, also 0.2degC lower than Wednesday.
