Chandigarh, May 17 -- Head constable Jaipal, who allegedly rammed his car into two scooterists in Manimajra on Thursday night, has been suspended, officials said. An FIR has been registered against him. Jaipal was posted with the enforcement wing of the Chandigarh MC. He was transferred to police lines before his suspension. His medical report confirmed he was drunk at the time of the incident, officials said. Sections 125(A) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash or negligent driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been slapped on the accused at the Manimajra police station. After Jaipal in his personal Hyundai Venue car hit the scooterists, both sustained injuries in Manimajra late Thursday night.
