hC asks TN, Centre for status report on 85 from state missing in Nepal
Bengaluru, Sept. 3 -- The Madras high court on Wednesday directed the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government to file status reports on the steps taken to trace 85 people from the southern state who remain "unreachable" following devastating flash floods in Nepal.
A bench of chief justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and justice G Arul Murugan passed the order on a public interest litigation filed by advocate AF Parvesh Mushraf, seeking directions to authorities to establish whereabouts of pilgrims from TN affected by the disaster in the Himalayan nation and ensure their rescue and safe return.
