Chandigarh, May 17 -- The Haryana government has introduced a one-time waiver of 100% interest on pending property tax dues from 2010-11 to 2024-25 for property owners across urban local bodies in the state. The state urban local bodies department on May 15 issued two separate notifications under the provisions of the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, and the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973, for making amendments in October 2012 notifications relating to property tax provisions. Under the amended provisions, delayed payment of property tax will continue to attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month or part thereof. However, property owners will be granted a one-time waiver on the entire interest on arrears pending since 2010-11 to 2023-25 if they clear the dues and self-certify their property information on property tax dues payment and no dues certificate management system portal by the June 30, 2026, said the notification issued by commissioner and secretary, urban local bodies, Ashok Kumar Meena.htc...
