ROHTAK, May 13 -- Blurb: Girls outshone boys by 6.52 percentage points, recording a pass percentage of 87.97% against 81.45% for the boys. All the four top scorers of Haryana Board's Class 12 results are girls, with Deepika (Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, Chillar, Rewari) bagged the top position with 499 marks out of 500 in art stream. Girls also secured the top scorer ranks in the remaining commerce and science streams. According to the results, Udita (Vishvavara Kanya Gurukul, Rurki, Rohtak district) also from the arts stream, came second, scoring 498 marks. She hails from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Yogita (Shiksha Bharti Global School, Budain, Jind) and Muskan (Gyan Bharti Public School, Dhamtan Sahib, also in Jind) finished third, securing 497 marks. Both are from the arts stream. Deepika Meghwal, daughter of a government school teacher said that self study was her success mantra as she never took tuition. She said that she aspires to be an IAS officer and she will start preparing for the UPSC examination during her graduation. The second topper, Udita, said that she wants to join the Indian Army to serve the country as she has already started preparing for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination. Udita's father Neeraj Kumar is a farmer and her mother Neelam is a house wife. Muskan's father is also a farmer, she said that she will be preparing for the UPSC exam after graduation and wants to join the civil services. Yogita, whose father is also a farmer from Jind said that she never took tuition classes and focused on self-study with the help of her teachers. She said that she also wants to be an IAS officer. Tamanna, (SD Kanya Mahavidyalya, Narwana of Jind) and Janvi (Modle KM Sr Secondary School, Dangra, Fatehabad) are the toppers of commerce stream as they both secured 494 marks. Tanisha (Hindu Kanya Sr Secondary School of Sonepat) and Bhawna (Gramin Sr Secondary School Chhara, Jhajjar district) and Kamakshi (New Happy Sr Secondary School of Yamunanagar) remained at the second position in the commerce stream with 493 marks. Vanshika Mahajan (BKD Sr Secondary School, Salhawas of Jhajjar) is the science stream topper as she has secured 494 marks. While Simran (Pragya Sr Secondary School Bhandwa, Charkhi Dadri), Aman from (Adarsh Sr Secondary School Baund Kalan, Charkhi Dadri) and Subham (Royal International School Baund Kalan of Charkhi Dadri) jointly shared second position in science stream with 493 marks. Manju (Oxford Public School of Matloda, Hisar) has secured third position in the science stream with 492 marks. Girls Outperform Boys In the overall results, girl students have outperformed by 6.52 percentage points, recording a pass percentage of 87.97% against 81.45% for the boys. The overall pass percentage for regular candidates in the senior secondary (academic) examination stood at 84.67%, while private candidates recorded 69.57%. Among streams, science registered the highest pass percentage at 90.08%, followed by commerce at 88.20% and arts at 82.60%. Government schools lagged behind private institutions, with a pass percentage of 82.44% compared to 87.94% of private schools. Students from rural areas performed marginally better than their urban counterparts, registering a pass percentage of 84.98% against 83.91%. Charkhi Dadri emerged as the top-performing district with a pass percentage of 91.08 %, while Nuh remained at the bottom with 57 %....
