Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- The Haryana government on Saturday appealed to power utilities employees to withdraw the strike call, stating it was committed to resolving issues raised by employees through continuous dialogue while ensuring uninterrupted power supply and safeguarding public interest. A power utilities spokesperson said that senior government officials held a constructive meeting with representatives of the employees' unions on August 7, 2026. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Haryana Bijli Karamchari Evam Engineers Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha, including the Haryana Power Engineers' Association, All Haryana Power Corporations Workers Union (HO, Hisar), HSEB Workers' Union and HPC SC/ST & BC Employees Union. During the meeting, various issues raised by the employees were discussed in detail one by one. The government assured that all genuine concerns would be considered with due seriousness but informed the employees that, as it is currently the peak season, any disruption to the electricity supply will not be permissible under any circumstances. The spokesperson said that the government remains committed to resolving the issues through dialogue and that the doors for discussions remain open, and all employees are welcome to meet the senior government officials at any time. The spokesperson appealed to employees, officers and engineers not to be influenced by rumours or unverified information regarding any notification on agri DISCOM.
