Hansraj Public School conducts inter-school debate competition
Panchkula, Aug. 27 -- Hansraj Public School, Sector 6 organised Suvichaar-26 - level 2, the second edition of its inter-school literary and debating competition, on August 24.
Suvichaar'26 centred around the theme 'Literature shapes thought, and thought shapes leadership.' The competition sought to nurture young minds who can think deeply, articulate fearlessly and engage respectfully with differing viewpoints.
The occasion was attended by general V P Malik, Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), former chief of army staff, military leader and author; Vivek Atray, former IAS officer, acclaimed author, motivational speaker and TEDx speaker; Col DS Cheema, author and literary enthusiast; and Rajbeer Deswal, retired IPS officer and acclaimed author.
The students' well-reasoned arguments and respectful engagement with contrasting viewpoints reflected the true spirit of meaningful debate. The jury comprised Sunaina Jain, assistant professor, department of english, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh; Jagdeep Sambey, head, content marketing and communications department, Shoolini University; and Vaishali Thakur, marketing and content professional, marketing and communications department, Shoolini University.
The first prize was bagged by Varalika Sharma and Vaishnavi Ahluwalia of Army Public School, Chandimandir.
The second prize went to Mayra Bakshi and Krishiv Bhandari of Hansraj Public School. Sanvi Mahajan and Kunal Kumar Shukla of Manav Mangal School, Sector 11, Panchkula, secured the third prize. Darsh Garg and Ananya Bansal received special recommendation awards for their noteworthy performance.
