Hoshiarpur, Feb. 23 -- Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria arrived here on Sunday for the February 23 anti-drug march that will be flagged off from the Mukerian Tehsil Complex. Upon his arrival, the district administration accorded the governor a warm welcome and briefed him on the preparations and ongoing initiatives under the anti-drug campaign. Kataria also paid obeisance at Gurdwara Panj Pyara Sahib in Nangal Shahidan village. Addressing a gathering, the governor emphasised that collective efforts are essential to eradicate the menace of drugs from society. He urged youth to stay away from substance abuse and adopt a healthy lifestyle, stressing that the vision of a drug-free Punjab cannot be achieved without active public participation. Highlighting the importance of community engagement, he noted that social awareness, family support and institutional cooperation play a vital role in preventing drug abuse and rehabilitating affected individuals.
