Karnal, May 14 -- In a joint operation conducted by the Punjab Police's counter intelligence (CI) wing and special task force (STF), Ambala unit of Haryana Police, a hand grenade was recovered at Shahabad town of Kurukshetra on Wednesday. Officials said that on Monday, the STF unit arrested notorious gang member Surya Pratap alias Noni Rana of Tangore village in Kurukshetra. Following his arrest, one illegal pistol, one magazine and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession. During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the accused, in connivance with his associates based abroad, was involved in extorting businessmen.
