Governor hints at talks with govt on sacrilege law
Ludhiana, May 22 -- Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria said he is considering convening a meeting with Punjab government representatives to address objections raised by the Akal Takht and Sikh organisations over provisions of the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026.
He made the remarks after meeting Akal Takht jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Harjinder Singh Dhami in Ludhiana, where concerns about alleged interference in Sikh religious affairs were discussed.
