Government's Rs.47 face wash gets a viral glow-up
India, July 18 -- A salicylic acid face wash sold under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) has become social media's latest skincare discovery, thanks largely to its pocket-friendly price. Available in 1% and 2% formulations at Jan Aushadhi Kendras, the face washes cost Rs.46.88 and Rs.65.63, respectively, significantly lower than branded acne-care alternatives, which typically retail between Rs.150 and Rs.300.
Though not a new launch, it went viral online, with users sharing jokes about PM Narendra Modi "dropping his skincare routine". The PMBJP portfolio, run by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, also includes other dermatological products and protein supplements.
