Chandigarh, Sept. 27 -- After failing to attract bidders in an earlier action, the state agricultural marketing board is making a fresh attempt to auction 23 commercial sites at the new grain, fruit and vegetable market in Sector 39. The fresh e-auction will cover SCO sites 24 to 46, with the bidding window scheduled from October 23 to 27. Each 100.23-sq-m site has been assigned a reserve price of Rs.5 crore, taking the combined base value to about Rs.122 crore. Bidders will have to deposit earnest money deposit of Rs.10 lakh per site. The properties will be offered on a leasehold basis for fruit and vegetable trade. Sites 24 and 46, being corner plots, will carry an additional 5% charge. Interested parties can submit their documents and earnest money between September 28 and October 18. A pre-bid meeting will be held on October 1 to explain the process.
