AGRA, Sept. 9 -- A foetus died after an ambulance carrying a pregnant woman in labour was allegedly stuck in a pothole for nearly two hours in Agra, delaying her journey to the hospital, officials said on Tuesday. The incident happened in the Garhwar village of the Bah tehsil on September 2 and officials said an inquiry into the matter will be conducted and a detailed report has been sought. According to villagers, the woman, identified as Nidhi (25), went into labour and was being taken to an ambulance when it got stuck on a damaged road. Officials said, the villagers managed to pull out the vehicle using a tractor after two hours. Nidhi was rushed to a community health centre where the doctors said the foetus had died due to the delay, they added. SDM (Bah) Vinod Kumar said a fair inquiry will be conducted and a letter has been sent to PWD officials in this regard. Officiating CMO Amit Rawat said, "A detailed report has been sought from the CHC in-charge at Bah on what exactly happened."...
