Panchkula, Aug. 25 -- Deputy commissioner Satpal Sharma on Monday directed officials of the public works department (buildings and roads) (PWD B&R), Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority (PMDA), Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), municipal corporation and Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) to complete pothole filling and patchwork in their respective areas by Wednesday, warning of strict action against officials who fail to meet the deadline. The directions were issued during a meeting at the mini-secretariat, based on complaints received from residents. Interestingly, in September last year, Sharma had assured chief minister Nayab Singh Saini that potholes across the city would be repaired within three days. However, despite the assurance, several stretches remained unattended. With the onset of the monsoon this year, the problem has resurfaced, with potholes reappearing on several major roads.
