New Delhi, Dec. 17 -- The first hearing on fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi's appeal against his extradition to India, scheduled on Tuesday in London, was postponed till the end of February 2026, people familiar with the development said. A joint team of the CBI and ED had travelled to London for Tuesday's hearing and is learnt to have met with the Crown Prosecution Service lawyers, who will argue the case before the UK court on behalf of India. The CBI-ED team on Tuesday submitted their documents, including the Government of India's assurance explaining why this extradition appeal should not be taken up.
