First batch of Sikh pilgrims leaves for Hemkunt Sahib yatra from Chamoli
Dehradun, May 23 -- Amid elaborate security arrangements, the first batch of pilgrims on Friday departed for the annual Hemkunt Sahib Yatra from Govindghat in Chamoli district under the leadership of the revered Panj Pyare, officials said.
The departure ceremony witnessed devotional chants as devotees began the spiritually significant pilgrimage towards Hemkunt Sahib.
Officials said the first batch was led by the Panj Pyare, who hold immense significance in Sikh tradition and symbolise faith, selfless service andcourage.
The procession, accompanied by ceremonial bands and religious rituals, marked the formal commencement of the yatra this year.
To ensure smooth and secure conduct of the pilgrimage, the district administration and Chamoli Police have put in place extensive security and crowd management arrangements along the entire pilgrimage route.
Police personnel have been deployed at key points and special security measures have been implemented for the first batch of pilgrims to ensure a safe journey.
According to the scheduled programme, the first batch of pilgrims will halt for the night at the gurdwara in Ghangaria before proceeding towards Hemkunt Sahib on Saturday....
