Emilia Clarke shares new deets on undergoing two brain surgeries
India, May 16 -- Actor Emilia Clarke, 39, known for playing Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, in a recent podcast shared how surviving two brain hemorrhages during her time on the show left her believing she had "cheated death".
On How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, she said, "I was convinced that I had cheated death and I was meant to die. Every day, that's all I could think about."
Emilia suffered her first brain haemorrhage in 2011 shortly after season one, while doing a plank at the gym. A second aneurysm was later detected during a routine scan while she was working on a Broadway project in New York, leading to another life-threatening emergency and surgery.
Recalling the first episode, she said, "The closest thing to describe the feeling is imagining an elastic band snapping around your brain. I crawled to the bathroom and was vomiting profusely."
Clarke also admitted she felt "ashamed" and feared being seen as "weak," adding that she was still recovering under the effects of morphine while preparing for the show's season one press tour and trying to reassure HBO executives she would return to work.htc...
