Karnal, Aug. 9 -- An eight-year-old boy drowned in a vacant plot filled with rainwater in the Rajiv Colony area of Rohtak on Saturday, police said. The family, originally from Bihar, has been living in Rajiv Colony for the past few years and has six children. The deceased was identified as Santosh. His father Naresh said that the child had gone out to play with his siblings when they entered the waterlogged plot. The child reportedly slipped into the waterlogged plot. While two other children managed to swim to safety, he began drowning in the approximately five-foot-deep water and could not be saved. The two children then returned home and informed their family, who alerted the police about the incident. The body was recovered and shifted to civil hospital for an autopsy....
