Def Leppard's singer says coming to India would be like 'landing on the moon'
India, March 18 -- English rock band Def Leppard is all set for their first-ever performance in India with a three-city tour lined up this month. In an interview with us, frontman Joe Elliott shares the band's excitement about performing for a new audience.
"You start thinking, where is left to play that we haven't played?" Joe says admitting his surprise over the fact that, despite five decades of touring the world, Def Leppard has never performed in India. The 66-year-old admits he has rarely interacted with Indian fans during their tours abroad. But this unfamiliarity is precisely what makes the upcoming tour exciting. "It's going to be like landing on the moon. We've never been in this environment. It's a total blank canvas for me. I don't know what to expect," he says.
On what fans can expect from their upcoming performance, "I'd say most of the classics will be played," the lead vocalist says, referring to hits like Pour Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites and Rock of Ages, adding, "But we're not a nostalgia band playing some kind of heritage circuit. Every time we go out, we try to bring something in that we haven't done before."...
