Day on, 1 held in Sector-38 supermarket theft case
Chandigarh, May 29 -- A 47-year-old man was arrested by the police on Thursday in connection with a supermarket burglary in Sector 38-C, recovering part of the stolen cash along with original identity documents allegedly taken during the theft.
The accused, identified as Jitender Sharma of Naya Gaon, Mohali, was arrested by Sector 39 police team. The burglary came to light on the morning of May 27 when owner Shubham Mittal allegedly found the rear shutter lock of his store broken and the shutter partially open.
On checking, he discovered cash amounting to Rs.2 lakh had been stolen along with an Aadhaar card and PAN card. Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated a probe.
