India, June 4 -- F ormer English footballer David Beckham is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, organisers announced on Tuesday. The honour will be bestowed on June 12 at a ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place just hours before the first match on US soil as a part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and kicks off on June 11. According to Variety, actor Tom Cruise and Beckham's wife, fashion designer and former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham, will join him at the ceremony and help unveil the plaque. Beckham, who was knighted by Britain's King Charles III last year, is widely regarded as one of football's most iconic figures. During a career spanning more than two decades, he played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Preston North End. Among his many achievements, Beckham won six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, as well as league titles in Spain and France with Real Madrid and PSG, respectively. htc...
