India, June 14 -- English football legend David Beckham was honoured with the 2,849th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California on Friday, marking another milestone in a career that has moved beyond sport into global pop culture. At the ceremony in Los Angeles, his close friend, actor Tom Cruise, praised Beckham's journey, saying, "His is a Hollywood story." Cruise added, "A boy who believed in something bigger than himself, had to work for every opportunity he received, went on to influence his sport, shaped culture around the world and created opportunities for generations who followed."
