Chandigarh, July 28 -- DAV Model School organised HPV awareness session for parents and students to promote awareness about cervical cancer, its prevention and the importance of HPV vaccination. The awareness session was undertaken by the expert medical team from GMCH-16, comprising Dr Nancy and Dr Aparna RM. Parents and students actively attended the session and participated throughout the programme. Participants were informed that cervical cancer is most commonly diagnosed in women between the ages of 35 and 50 years. The HPV vaccine offers the greatest protection when administered to girls and boys aged 9-14 years, before exposure to the virus.
