Mohali, Oct. 26 -- A 61-year-old cyclist died after being hit by a speeding motorcycle near crematorium, Kartarpur Garibdas, Mohali, on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Ram Singh, a resident of the same area. The victim's son, Kuldeep Singh, told police that he was standing on the opposite side of the road when he saw a motorcycle, bearing registration number PB-27E-8492, crash into his father's cycle. The complainant said the bike was in high speed and the impact left his father severely injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to the civil hospital in Phase 6, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police said the motorcycle rider fled the spot after the accident. "We have identified the accused and registered a case. Efforts are on to arrest him.
