Panchkula, Sept. 30 -- A crime branch inspector, Ajit Singh, was suspended after allegedly creating a ruckus at a Sector 5 club on Sunday night. Club staff alleged that Singh arrived in an inebriated condition, misbehaved with bouncers and assaulted an employee. Aditi Singh, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), confirmed the inspector's suspension and said an investigation is underway. According to the club management, Singh entered the premises claiming he was there for checking and allegedly recorded videos of women dancing. When stopped, he allegedly called other crime branch personnel to the club. CCTV footage submitted to police purportedly shows Singh outside the club before five men in civilian clothes arrived in a police vehicle. Staff alleged they were armed policemen. The staff alleged Singh continued the disturbance for nearly two hours. No FIR has been registered so far.
