Lucknow, Oct. 11 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday accepted Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's challenge to contest the upcoming Assembly elections from Ayodhya, inviting him to fight the polls against him from the constituency. Yadav retorted that a "gust of wind" would sweep away the chief minister's arrogance. Addressing a public meeting in Balrampur, Adityanath said Ayodhya was a centre of faith and devotion, and that his visits were aimed at ensuring its development. "I invite you to file your nomination from Ayodhya. I will also try my luck there once. The fight should be face-to-face," he said. Responding to the CM on X, Yadav said a young "PDA Prahari" (guardian of PDA) would be enough to defeat those allegedly involved in the theft of offerings and donations.
