Chandigarh, Sept. 28 -- Accusing the Congress and its allies of spreading misinformation about the Election Commission and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said that questioning the impartiality of the commission"without presenting concrete facts" was not appropriate for a democratic system. Addressing a press conference at the party's office in Sector 33, Chandigarh BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra said the opposition was also trying to create confusion regarding Form-6. "There is a prescribed procedure through Form-6 for eligible citizens to be included in the electoral roll, and during the SIR process as well, eligible citizens are being given an opportunity to apply as per the rules. The door-to-door outreach and application collection process through BLOs is aimed at ensuring the democratic participation of every eligible citizen," he said.
