India, Aug. 3 -- Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor-turned-politician Vijay, has spoken for the first time about his father's victory in the 2026 Assembly elections, calling it a "historic revolution". Speaking to Behindwoods TV ahead of his directorial debut Sigma, Jason also addressed speculation surrounding his family after he, his sister Divya Saasha, and mother Sangeeta Sornalingam were absent from Vijay's swearing-in ceremony in May. "It is a historic revolution that has taken place. Because of this, whether it is me, my sister or my entire family, we have all received an additional responsibility and legacy to carry forward. We also need to safeguard it," the 25-year-old said. Addressing the scrutiny around his family, Jason said, "People make assumptions about us because we are public figures. They don't know what is actually happening in our lives. I don't think it's fair to judge people based on assumptions." He added that he prefers not to react to rumours and instead focuses on his work. On his father's guidance, Jason said, "He wanted me to build my own identity and name. As a father, he helped me. But when it came to my career, he motivated me to learn things on my own and gain ground-level experience. He never spoon-fed me." Vijay led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and took the oath as Chief Minister earlier this year. Jason is set to make his directorial debut with Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah.
