PANAJI, Oct. 19 -- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of plotting "vote theft", Union home minister Amit Shah of operationalising it and chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar of implementing it, adding that the "expiry date" of the BJP government is near. Speaking at a rally in Goa, the Congress leader said: "In Delhi we have ensured that Gyanesh Kumar cannot sleep at night, nor Amit Shah or Narendra Modi because they know that one day or the other sooner or later, the Congress will ensure justice". He also said that they will pay the price for what they have done. Gandhi had led strident protests against the SIR and Gyanesh Kumar in New Delhi. Before addressing the rally, Gandhi participated in the Congress's 'Goy Rakhon Yatra' on its concluding day, in the run up to the state elections expected early next year. "The whole country knows without any doubt that Gyanesh Kumar is implementing a vote chori, Amit Shah is operationalising him and Modi from the background is planning the whole thing," Gandhi said. "Today Narendra Modi cannot face the people. Amit Shah too knows that it's all but over. The youth of this country are up in arms against them. They will not be able to save themselves from us. It is not long from now," he added. He said it would be the responsibility of Congress workers to be alert at the elections, defend the constitution and catch the "vote chori" as it is happening. Gandhi also called on the people of Goa to give the Congress a full majority if they wish to end the "humiliation that they've had to endure over the past 15 years." "Goa is a paradise, one of the most beautiful in the country but here your government is stealing your land and selling it to outsiders for crores. First there was the masterplan, they have nixed it. They are selling Goa's land to their friends," he said, accusing the BJP of turning Goa into their "personal piggybank". Meanwhile, the Goa BJP said that Rahul Gandhi's dream of unseating the BJP will remain a "distant dream." "Your regime-change ambitions will remain a distant dream! Politics is a full-time commitment, not like the unserious party and leadership of Congress! You talk of an "expiry date"? Congress expired in 2014. All that's left is propaganda and overseas vacations," the party said on X....
