Mumbai, Sept. 28 -- The Shivaji Park police have denied permission to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke for holding a protest at Shivaji Park on October 2. In a social media post, the Mumbai police said, "Permission has been denied because Mumbai Police is not empowered to grant permission for any gathering at Shivaji Park...It has been explained to applicant Ajinkya Shinde and he has also been advised to look for alternate venues in Mumbai City for the protest." They have also written to the organisers. Dipke termed it a "tactic" to suppress citizens' voices. In a post on X, he said, "Such tactics to suppress citizens' voices are unacceptable.
