City sweats as mercury rises to 36.6degC, humidity touches 77%, says MeT office
Chandigarh, July 15 -- Hot and humid weather is expected to continue in the city through the week though a respite is likely next week, when the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain.
The city's maximum temperature rose to 36.6degC onTuesday, from 36.1degC on Monday.
This was 2.3degC above normal. The humidity levels touched 77%, adding to the discomfort.
The highest maximum temperature recorded so far this month was 37.9degC on July 5.
The minimum temperature also rose from 25degC on Monday to 25.6degC on Tuesday, which was 1degC below normal.
According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36degC over the next three days, while the minimum is likely to remain around 27degC....
